The MacKay Collection
Bert MacKay collected mementos from the Pender Harbour area throughout his life. His tastes were eclectic, ranging from Easthope engines to marine stoves to a bathtub full of glass net floats! Hand tools from caulking irons to clothes irons lie adjacent to antique outboard motors and a Spilsbury radio. He wanted his collection to reflect life in the Harbour and to remain there for the community to enjoy after his death. His widow, Denise MacKay, has agreed to donate these treasures to the Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society and this collection will form the core of a historical display when the Society builds a facility in Pender Harbour.
